GREENWICH - With the help of volunteers of all ages, Barbara's House prepared special Thanksgiving meals this week for about 160 families in Greenwich.

The community nonprofit group will deliver the meals to 90 senior citizens, about 50 Barbara's House families and 20 Kids in Crisis families.

On Monday, Houlihan Lawrence volunteer Michele Tesei and chef Juan Benitez made stuffing for the meals at St. Roch Church in the Chickahominy section of Greenwich. Benitez also teamed up with kids from the Barbara's House program Monday to make banana bread and put the finishing touches on the Thanksgiving dinners.

Volunteers and town officials will help distribute the meals on Wednesday, just in time for Thanksgiving on Thursday.

Food donations from Stew Leonard's and Houlihan Lawrence helped the meals come to fruition.

Barbara's House is a nonprofit social service agency dedicated to building skills that empower clients to overcome educational, social and economic barriers and reach their full potential.
