Christmas Comes Early for Many in Greenwich, Thanks to Barbara's House

By Tyler Sizemore for Greenwich Time

GREENWICH - To keep up the spirit of the holidays, Barbara's House made the rounds of the community and handed out gifts, meals and poinsettias.

Children received gifts that had been donated by members of Round Hill Community Church via a Target gift registry, as well as clothing from Saks Fifth Avenue, and gift cards from Greenwich United Way.

Barbara's House gave out holiday gifts to 60 local children, and hot meals and poinsettias to 85 local seniors. Many of the recipients live in the Wilbur Peck Court public housing complex in Greenwich. St. Roch Church in the Chickahominy section of town helped with the hot meals.

A Greenwich-based social service agency dedicated to building skills that empower clients to overcome educational, social, and economic barriers, Barbara's House said it was dedicated to keeping the holiday a happy one despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
